Fair Trade Website
The issue of fair trade is in the spotlight like never before. Sales of fairtrade products are increasing by 50% each year, and now total 140m in Britain alone. While growing numbers of people may recognise the fairtrade mark, and may buy the products occasionally, few can say what fairtrade really means. The media and campaign groups often distort and polarise these issues, making it difficult for people to make their own decisions and have their own views regarding issues affecting developing countries today

Living Earth believes that they can go some way to rectifying this situation by developing an information portal website, about fair trade and other development issues affecting Africa. The unique difference being that the information for this website will be directly sourced from Africa, thus ensuring that information on the site is directly related to the issues affecting Africa at the grass roots level rather than being sourced - perhaps with value-laden perspectives - from Europe.
