FCTV, in partnership with LEF, organised a round table meeting in Lomie on the 28th September 2011, which brought together twenty Baka leaders and representatives from civil society organisations.  The purpose of the round table was to discuss mechanisms for increasing Baka participation in decision-making processes.  There was a lot of lively debate around the areas of Baka chiefdoms, the new Decree 501 which should help to increase Baka participation in local decision-making bodies through to community forestry.  A report of the workshop will be available shortly. The workshop was organised as part of the ‘Forest Voices’ project, which is funded by the European Union.
