The Resource Alliance, an International Non Government Organisation whose mission is to build the fundraising capacity of the non-profit sector worldwide, organised the 2011 Global NGO award for fundraising best practices among NGOs worldwide; over thirty NGOs competed for the award.
Living Earth Uganda emerged as the winner of the category “Big Idea, Small Budget” and qualified for the 2011 Global award which took place on 29th October 2011 in Amsterdam. While complementing Living Earth Uganda’s (LEU) effort, the judge highlighted that “this is an excellent example of mobilising local resources in an extremely practical way, as well as a great effort to engage the local community in what has developed into a thriving social enterprise.”
At a local level, LEU also emerged as the winner for the category of “Big Idea, small budget” and qualified for the local NGO award at the awarding ceremony that took place on 1st December 2011 at Speke Resort Munyonyo
