Living Earth participated in the “First National Conference on the Sustainable, Integrated and Knowledge Based Development of Asalouyeh”, which was held between 6-8 January 2010. The conference was designed to address the Sustainable Development challenges facing Asalouyeh, a city on the Persian Gulf which is at the heart of the Pars Special Energy/Economic Zone (PSEEZ), a large industrial complex under development. The development of PSEEZ is based on more than 15 major oil and gas projects associated with the extraction, processing and transport of gas and oil from the South Pars field in the Gulf, one of the largest oil and gas deposits in the world.
