Macaulay Olagoke, Programme Manager
As a Research Fellow at the International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan in the 1980s, Macaulay joined other scientists on the On-Farm Adaptive Research (OFAR) team, to improve rural livelihoods through participatory research activities with local farmers.
Since then, he has worked with various institutions across Africa, including as Consultant to the then Nairobi-based United Nations’ Office for Project Services (UNOPS) and full-time staff with the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) Nigeria. He has had the privilege of building the capacity of members of rural communities, civil society, businesses and the academia, urging them to work in partnership so they can more effectively engage in Africa’s development process.
