Dorothy Edwardsen Programme Coordinator, North Slope Alaska

Dorothy is an Inupiaq eskimo from Barrow Alaska, the northern most city in the United States.  She has in lived in Barrow all all her life, raised her 8 children there where she finished her education.  She worked for 11 years

with the Inupiat History, Language & Culture program of the North Slope as a translator/editor. She also worked as a Liaison for the Leadership of the North Slope Region and the community of Barrow for the War on Drugs and Alcohol.Dorothy was hired in June 2009 as the first American based Living Earth employee as the Coordinator for North Slope Alaska projects.

 

Swithern Tumwine Programme Coordinator, Living Earth Uganda

Swithern holds advanced training in financial mangement, as well as 16 years hands-on experience of working in NGOs, government projects, microfinance, financial and developmental work management, institutional planning, monitoring, evaluation and general management in Uganda.

 

Dr Nouhou Ndam Programme Coordinator, Fondation Camerounaise de la Terre Vivante (Cameroon)

Dr Nouhou Ndam is a leading African Wildlife and Forestry specialists with outstanding expertise of protected areas management with good rural communities understanding. He has managed the Limbe Botanical and Zoological Gardens forover 17 years (1988-2005). He obtained his PhD from Bangor, University of Wales, UK. Email: nouhou_n@yahoo.com

 

Lios McGilchrist Technical Adviser, Cameroon

Lios joined Living Earth in 2008 having completed a Bachelor’s degree in French and Philosophy at the University of Bristol, where she focused on global development issues. She has spent time living and working in Tanzania, Martinique and where she was working for AURA, a group of West African musicians rapping for Children’s Rights. She is currently based in Yaounde,  working with our Cameroonian partners FCTV.

 

 

Dara Akala Associate, Nigeria

Dara A kala is a sustainable development specialist with more than 25 years multi-layered professional experience across public sector and private voluntary institutions. His area of expertise is in natural res ource management, rural sector programme development, and micro enterprise development including micro finance. His key technical skills include: economic analysis of projects, project monitoring and evaluation, facilitation skills, learning resources development and multi-sectoral partnership building.

 

Ed Craven Associate

Dr Ed Craven is a trainer and management consultant. He has worked in the past five years in India, Nigeria and Russia on capacity building for NGOs and local government. He is currently working with Living Earth on the local government training programme in Sakhalin, Russia. As well as working with Living Earth he works currently for VSO, Kingston University and the Open College Network.

 

 

Paul Vare Associate

Paul Vare is an education specialist, with a particular focus on Education for Sustainable Development. He is Executive Director of the South West Learning for Sustainability Coalition and represents non-governmental groups at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. A for mer Executive Director of Living Earth Foundation, Paul is currently working with Living Earth as a consultant on our Alaska programme.

 

Alejandro Luy General Manager, Fundacion Tierra Viva (Venezuela)Associates

Alejandro is the General manager of Tierra Viva, a now a fully autonomous NGO working in a number of areas in Venezuela.
